Rutilated quartz with needles of green tourmaline and watermelon tourmaline chips are hand-knotted with vintage Bohemian glass 22kt gold-foil rose beads and vintage Glenn Erso 18 karat vermeil accent beads. They surround the 200 year-old Chinese cloisonneé snuff bottle in 11kt gold with 14⁄20 gold-fill round beads and bead caps. Length: 34 inches.
Cloisonné snuff bottles are miniature enameled vessels developed during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) to store powdered tobacco. Crafted by soldering delicate metal wires to a metal base and filling the formed cells with colored enamel, these highly functional accessories became lavish symbols of status and imperial power.
